Glenn grew up in SE. Portland with his older brother Jack. His

parents were Joe and Mae McGuirk. My brothers and I called them Papa

and Granny and we all loved them so. Glenn and Jack spent many

summers as kids with their mother’s family in Othello Washington on a

farm. His Aunt June was the head of a large family that included many of

his cousins. They were all raised like siblings together, some of them here

today. When Glenn was a teenager he moved there going to high school

for a school year. Later on he enlisted with the Marines with his closeboyhood friends Bill and Jerry. He worked for most of his adult life in the

sheet metal industry working his way up over the years as a supervisor

before retiring. Many of his beloved work friends are here today too.

Dad was always a huge fan of film and knew and followed many

writers, directors, and actors, in way more detail than most people. He

really enjoyed story telling, as many of you know, and loved telling a good

story with passion! He also loved working out and going to the gym a lot

taking care of himself and staying healthy. After retiring he learned the

game of golf and loved playing with friends. He was also an avid bike rider

and enjoyed long rides in the countryside with fellow riders. Another big

part of his adult life was with the AA program and community where he

earned his 26 year sobriety this year on January 29th. He was heavily

involved in helping others and taking part in service positions and

meetings. Many of you know him from this community, and I know he

loved being part of your life’s journeys together.

He is survived by 3 sons; Robin, Dustin, and Sean.  And 3 grandchildren: Katie Rose, Theo, and Isabelle.
