Helmud “John” Egdorf passed away peacefully on December 18, 2025, in Edmonds, Washington, surrounded by his loving family.

John was born in Brooklyn, New York, and later lived in the Bronx before ultimately making his home in Edmonds, Washington. He graduated from DeWitt Clinton High School in the Bronx and went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Navy.

A man of integrity and tireless work ethic, John was known for his honesty and his dedication to those he loved. He cherished his family above all else and often said he would marry his wife, Isabelle, again if he could. John had a passion for motorcycles, a well-known fondness for chocolate, and a gift for making people laugh.

John is survived by his wife of 65 years, Isabelle; his children, Lewis, Carol, Anna, Jeannine (Rich), and John.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Wilhelm Egdorf and his sister Louise Fescine.

A memorial gathering will be held on Tuesday, December 23, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Beck’s Tribute Center, 405 5th Ave. S., Edmonds, Washington.

John will be remembered for his steadfast love, strength, and devotion to family, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
