Donald M. Halford, “Don”, age 66, passed away peacefully at home, December 8, 2025, in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Don was born August 4, 1959, in Twin Falls, Idaho, to the late Donald E. And Claramae Halford, of Weiser, Idaho. He was raised in Buhl, Idaho, until his family moved to Weiser, Idaho, when he was eight years old. He graduated from Weiser High School in 1977. He then attended Eastern Oregon State College on a two-year golf scholarship, then transferred to Boise State University.
Don worked at K-mart in Boise while attending Boise State University. It is there he met Patti Lenon in 1980. They started out as friends, dated for two years, engaged for two years, then married June 2, 1984. They wed at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Boise, Idaho.
Don and Patti were blessed with two sons; Donald Gary (DJ) Halford, born 1987, and Dylan Robert Halford, born 1989.
Don was transferred by his employer, Pacific Supply, to Colorado Springs, CO, in April 1998. His young family followed him out to Colorado in July 1998. He managed the “Springs” branch Pacific Supply overseeing the sales and inventory of wholesale roofing, stucco, and drywall products.
In 2006 Don joined Omega Products Int’l., as a manufacturer’s rep for the state of Colorado, overseeing the use and sales of Omega stucco products.
Don was offered an outside sales position with ABC Supply in 2012. He retired from there in November 2024, as inside sales.
Don became a member of 1st Presbyterian church in 2014 and he and Patti enjoyed attending the 9:40 a.m. traditional service and the friends they made there. They attended the 11:00 a.m. contemporary service more recently. He fondly referred to it as the “mosh pit,” for its more “trendy” style.
He enjoyed golfing and entering golf tournaments until his health made it impossible. He enjoyed coaching his sons in T-ball, baseball, basketball and soccer in both Boise and Colorado Springs.
Don is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Patti, and his two sons, DJ and Dylan Halford.
He is survived by three sisters: Susan Brown, Donette Hammond (Rich), and Karen Smith (Randy).
His mother-in-law, Casey Lenon, survives him, two sisters-in-law: Karen McComb (Pat), Bonnie Wallace (Stan), and brother-in-law, Wesley Lenon.
He is also survived by multiple nieces/nephews, grandnieces/grandnephews on both sides of the family. He was predeceased by his father and mother, three brothers-in-law (Mike Brown, Alan Lenon, and Gary Lenon), two nephews: Tony McComb and Brian Brown, and two nieces, Andrea Hancock and Kristin Brown.
Don will be extremely missed by his wife, sons, large extended family, and numerous friends, business associates, and co-workers he met during his life.
Don’s memorial service will be held at 1st Presbyterian Church in Colorado Springs, on January 9, at 10:30 a.m. in the sanctuary.
