Lynn Jenkins was born March 12, 1947, in Sweet Home, Oregon, to Al and Freda (Burbank) Jenkins, and died December 3, 2025, at home in Eugene due to heart disease.

He graduated from Sweet Home High School in 1965 and attended the University of Oregon (graduating with a BS in Business Management in 1981) and Lane Community College (earning an Associate Degree in Nursing in 1991). His employers throughout his working life included Sacred Heart General Hospital, Oregon Medical Group, PeaceHealth Medical Group, Good Samaritan Health Care Center, Riverpark Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, and Cascade Manor, retiring from Cascade Manor in 2014.

Singing was an important part of his life, including in high school, Sweet Home Evangelical Church, Ebbert Memorial United Methodist Church in Springfield, and the Sanctuary Choir at First United Methodist Church in Eugene. He also sang baritone with the Eugene Gleemen for many years and participated in several Eugene Opera productions.

Lynn began umpiring baseball in Sweet Home in 1966, then joined the Lane County Baseball Umpires Association upon moving to Eugene in 1970, retiring in 1998. He enjoyed football, wrestling, and basketball in his younger years along with golfing, camping, fishing, hunting, and televised sports in later years.

Lynn is survived by his wife, Christy (Cash), and son, Grant; brother Wes and wife Carol; nieces Tonya and Lucia, and their children; nephew Keith Vinson and wife Andrea; and a large extended family.

A celebration of life will be held January 10, 2026, at First United Methodist Church, 1376 Olive Street, Eugene, at 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Eugene Gleemen in Lynn’s memory.
