Born on January 28th, 1950 in Pasadena California, Richard “Rich” Neil Moceri was the youngest of three siblings. He grew up under the California sun in Norwalk, eventually graduating from Excelsior High School.

In his early years, he worked his way up from box boy to manager at Lucky’s Grocery Store chain. He went on to serve his country by joining the U.S. Navy Reserve and was called up for active duty in Vietnam.

After his time in the service, he discovered a passion for sales that he would use to build a successful career which he enjoyed for the rest of his working years.

His career in sales began at New York Life Insurance which is where he met the love of his life, Sandi. The two were married three years later in 1982 and honeymooned in Hawaii. Three years after that the couple welcomed a son, Nicholas followed by a daughter, Jamie.

Rich always loved time spent on the water and was an excellent skier. While living in southern California Rich enjoyed boating on Lake Elsinore, Lake Havasu and the Long Beach Marina.

In 1996, the Moceri family left southern California and started a new chapter in Washington state. In the Pacific Northwest Rich enjoyed hiking, riding dirt bikes with Nick, shooting archery and countless camping adventures.

When the kids were teenagers, Rich and Sandi purchased a vacation home in Moses Lake, Washington with the goal of spending quality family time there together. Rich took great pride in updating the house and yard himself. Many cherished memories were made there with family and friends.

Rich retired from a 32-year career at Bunn-O-Matic in 2017. He and Sandi briefly retired to their home in Moses Lake until they decided life moved a little too slowly there. Shortly after, they purchased a home in The Villages, Florida to be close to his brother Ron and fully embraced the retired life. Since he never met a home he couldn’t improve, Rich kept himself busy with plenty of projects as well as a few new hobbies. In sunny Florida he found a new love for the game of golf, volunteering at the “Filler Factory” at church and brushed up on his guitar skills.

Above everything, Rich lived for his faith and his family. He never met a stranger, always put others needs above his own and had a special way of spreading God’s love without saying a word. Rich’s grandkids will remember his enduring sense of humor, endless patience and encouraging them to always “look for the good”. Guided by his deep faith, Rich carried an unwavering positive spirit through every chapter of his life, leaving behind a legacy of hope and kindness that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Rich went home to be with the Lord on December 2nd, 2025. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lillian Moceri and his sister Donna Volner. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Sandi; his children Nick and Jamie; 4 loving grandchildren and his brother Ron Moceri. He leaves behind a wide circle of friends and a lifetime of memories we will carry forever.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00am on January 17th, 2026 at White River High School. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to VA Puget Sound Healthcare System Cancer Care Program or the Institute for Prostate Cancer Research Center.
