Alfred “Al” Frank Navarrette passed away peacefully on December 14, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Al was born on September 25, 1942, in Tucson, Arizona, to Hope Cota and Alfred Navarrette. He attended All Saints Catholic School and graduated from Salpointe High School before earning his degree from the University of Arizona College of Pharmacy. Al went on to build a successful and respected career in pharmacy, serving his communities with dedication and care.
After graduating from pharmacy school, Al married the love of his life, Angie Valencia, in 1966. Together they moved to Orange County, California, where they built their life and raised their family. Al owned and operated White Front Pharmacy in Costa Mesa for 28 years, a place where he was known not only as a pharmacist, but as a trusted friend to many.
In 1995, Al and Angie returned home to Tucson to be closer to family. Al worked at Walgreens while Angie ran their Baskin Robbins. They both retired in 2010 and spent many happy years enjoying golf and time together.
Al and Angie shared a love of spending time with family and friends, traveling, and running. They proudly completed three marathons together, along with hundreds of smaller races—an accomplishment that reflected their shared determination and love of staying active. Al was also an avid fan of both his beloved Salpointe Lancers and Arizona Wildcats.
Al is survived by his beloved wife, Angie; daughter Sarah (Chris); granddaughters Alena and Alexa; sister Irma; nephew Nick (Sarah); grandniece Addison; sister Lee Ann (Jim); brother Vance (Ann Marie) and a large circle of family and friends who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents and many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Al was a deeply loving and kind man who was cherished by all who knew him. In accordance with his wishes, there will be no service. The family kindly asks that you keep Al in your thoughts and prayers.
