Kenneth (Ken) Leroy Seib (92) was born to Mary E. and Joseph W. Seib on October 11, 1933 in Poseyville, Indiana, and was the youngest of four children. He grew up in a small farming community which instilled in him a strong work ethic, an appreciation for the outdoors, and a lifelong willingness to get his hands dirty. Those qualities defined him throughout his life and were evident in everything he did.

At a young age Ken proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict, answering the call to serve his country with quiet pride. Following his military service, he continued his education and earned a master’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign, working on the Vermilion River Radio Observatory project and publishing a book on Radiometry. He also went on to successfully manage his own business (Florida Digital, Inc.), patent a document printer skew detection system, and develop and manufacture dot matrix printer for in home, business and mobile use.

A devoted husband and father, Ken was married to Dorthy Jean Seib for 45 years. Together, they built a life grounded in commitment, resilience, and shared experiences. He was a proud father and stepfather and is survived by Kenneth C. Seib (Son), Kimberly Bochy (Bruce) (Daughter), Budine Pucylowski (Theordore) (Step-Daughter), Wynolla Farrow (Step-Daughter), Alicia Seib (Daughter), and Amanda Seib (Nikolay) (Daughter). He is pre-deceased by his sister Mary Ann Veazey (Richard) of Port Orange, FL, brother Carroll J. Seib (Irene) of New Orleans, LA, and sister Bertha Seib Bohner (Don) of Columbus, OH.

Ken was an avid golfer who treasured the friendships he made on the golf course. He continued golfing until the age of 87, enjoying not only the game itself but also the stories and camaraderie shared with friends. He loved spending time at his orange grove, where he found peace in the sunshine and the simple pleasures of life including caring for the infamous Billy the Bull, whom he raised from a young calf. It was also there that Ken made his own orange wine, a drink so strong that he was often the only one who could manage to enjoy it.

True to his hands-on nature, Ken enjoyed repairing fences in the Nebraska pastures with Wayne Kramer (Jean’s Brother). Even in his later years, Ken appreciated life’s small comforts, including enjoying a glass of whiskey, orange juice, or chocolate milk, from his familiar Garfield coffee mugs, right up until the end. Ken will be remembered as a hardworking man who loved the outdoors, valued friendship, and lived life with steadiness and humility.

His legacy lives on through his family and the many people whose lives he touched. He passed away peacefully on December 25, 2025 at the age of 92 surrounded by members of his family.
