James D. Chandler, age 87, died on December 27, 2025.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J.D. Chandler and June Chandler of Johnson City. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Carolyn Shore Chandler; and several cousins.
James was a 1960 graduate of East Tennessee State University. He served as a lieutenant in the Army Signal Corp. James retired in 2000 after a career in manufacturing accounting management, and he was an avid fisherman.
The family will receive friends at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church on Saturday, January 3, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, prior to the service. A graveside service will be held at Roselawn Memory Gardens on Monday, January 5, 2026, at 11:00 am with Rev. Scottie Burkhalter officiating. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:50 am. The cemetery is located at 3033 S. Roan St., Johnson City, TN 37601.
