Basilio Gonzalez Losada, 89, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2025, at his home surrounded by his immediate family-just as he has always hoped.
Born on January 10, 1936, in Havana, Cuba, to Basilio and Carmen Gonzalez, Basilio left his homeland in January 1959 to seek better life in the United States.
After arriving in Key West, Florida, he live in various parts of the country, including Alabama, New York and Michigan.
On December 2, 1972, Basilio married Diana Begley of Hyden, Kentucky. Together, they raised two children and delighted in four grandchildren: Basilio Junior Gonzalez, Valerie Gerot, Basilio Brendon Gonzalez, Cameron Michael Gonzalez, Krystin Anastasia Victoria Gerot and Audrey Elizabeth Gonzalez.
In 2011, Basilio retired and devoted his remaining years to cherished time with his family. Above all, he loved two things deeply: his family and the United States of America.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Basilio and Carmen Gonzalez, and his siblings, Carmen, Domingo and Victoria.
Basilio is survived by his loving wife, Diana; his children, Basilio junior and Valerie; his grandchildren, Brendon, Cameron, Krystin and Audrey; his son-in-law, Ron, and daughter-in-law Charity.
