Joel Matthew Murphy, 70, husband of Pamela Miller Murphy, passed away on Tuesday, December 30, 2025. He was born in Danville on July 30, 1955 to the late Kelly and Nellie Murphy. Joel was a harness horse trainer and worked at Keeneland.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Phillip Murphy (Terry), Christina Murphy, Christopher Murphy (Courtney), Joey Hacker (Amanda), and Jonathan Murphy; his sister, Donna Cheatham (George); his brother, Gregory Cheatham; his grandchildren, Nathan Murphy, Ben Brandenburg, Jordan Murphy, Kristyn Murphy, Cole Murphy, Mason Murphy, Cooper Hacker, and Parker Hacker; as well as 1 great granddaughter.
Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 1:00pm until 3:00pm on Saturday, January 3, 2026 at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd, Frankfort. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or (Hospice) Bluegrass Care Navigators.
