Patricia C. Flaherty (née O’Leary) passed away peacefully on January 1st  2026 at the age of 92.  She was born on October 16, 1933 in New York City to Maurice and Mary O’Leary.  She grew up in the Bronx where she attended St. Nicholas of Tolentine.  She married the love of her life Timothy Flaherty in May of 1958.  

She began her career at Bergdorf Goodman working the floor of the coat department and enjoyed every minute of her time there.  She became a stay-at-home mother in 1966 after the birth of her daughter and moved to Garnerville NY in 1974.  She then worked for Haverstraw Transit for over 35 years, driving a handicap bus, where she touched many children’s lives.  Pat gained her favorite title of Grandma in 1993 when her grandson was born followed by her granddaughter in 1995.  

Pat is predeceased by her husband Timothy, sister Frances Guy and her husband John Guy, sister Mary Onderdonk, siblings Catherine, Ann, and Cornelius O’Leary, and brother-in-law Desmond Flaherty.  She is survived by her daughter Colleen (Chuck), sister-in-law Eleanor Flaherty and brothers-in-law Edward (Marion) Flaherty and Frank Onderdonk, grandchildren Timmy and Casey and “furry” grandchildren Jack, Clover and Beggar.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2026, from 4pm-8pm at TJ McGowan Sons Funeral Home in Garnerville. A graveside service will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026, 11am, at Ascension Cemetery in Airmont, NY.

In lieu of flowers, Pat’s family requests that donations be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
