Lillian Christine “Chris” Allmer Obituary

 

Lillian Christine “Chris” Allmer, of Nampa Idaho went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on January 3, 2026. She traded in her physical body for her heavenly body 11 days before her 94th birthday. Chris was born to Lillian M V Tucker (1905-1985), and James A Dye (1904-1991) in Gastonia, North Carolina. She spent most of her life in Colorado (Greeley, Broomfield, Briggsdale, Evans) before moving to Nampa, Idaho in September 2024. After attending Greeley Central High School until 1949, she married Floyd Allmer, with whom she built a life centered on family and perseverance. Floyd preceded her in death in January 1969. Her relationship with Charles “Charlie” Durland (1935-2017) lasted 39 years before his death in April 2017.

 

A devoted Christian, Chris cherished her faith and fellowship through the Assembly of God church. She was known for her steady love, strength through life’s changes and the way she showed up for her family time and again. In addition to raising her three boys, Gerald, Steve and Brian, she adopted her daughter Harlene Arnette Allmer (1960-2000). She also helped to raise Charlie’s two daughters, Brenda Hermanson and Jennifer Durland (1965-2009), as well as her daughter-in-law, Connie Allmer and her nephew, Robert Dye. She had a remarkable impact on many lives during her years on this earth. Over the years, Chis wholeheartedly supported her children in their activities which included Good Luck 4-H club, FFA, Civil Air Patrol and sports. She served on the Civil Air Patrol for many years and retired as a Captain, an accomplishment she with quiet pride. She supported her husband as secretary and bookkeeper of his plumbing business in Broomfield, CO before moving the family to the farm near Briggsdale in 1972.

 

She was a die-hard Denver Bronco fan and loved the National Western Stock Show in Denver. She alsoloved collecting photos, stories and facts about her family heritage to preserve pieces of history that will continue to be treasured. She enjoyed the simple pleasures… Pepsi, a good manicure and fresh permand she could be ready for a last-minute road trip in 20 minutes. She loved to travel whether by train, plane, or semi-truck, she embraced adventure especially when it meant time with family.

 

Chris is survived by Gerald “Jerry” Allmer, Stephen “Steve” Allmer (Penny), Brian’s wife, Connie Allmer, Brenda Hermanson and Robert Dye and a sister-in-law, Betty Dye, and nieces and nephews. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many ‘adopted’ children who adored her.She was preceded in death by her husband Floyd Allmer (1932-1969) as well as her daughter Harlene Fiscus (1960-2000) and her son Brian Allmer (1966-2021), and her long-time companion Charles Durland (1935-2017). She was also preceded in death by her parents, Lillian M V Tucker and James A Dye and by all her siblings James Dye Jr, Jerry Dye, Shirley Keefer and Robert G Dye

 

The viewing will be at Adamson Life Celebration on January 12, 6-8 pm. The Life celebration service will be held on January 13, 2 pm at Two Rivers Fellowship, 2424 23rd Ave, Greeley, Colorado.. Reception at Two Rivers Fellowship after service.    Burial will be the following day January 14th 11:00am at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 3400 W 28th St, Greeley where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Floyd Allmer.    Adamson website: www.altogetherfuneral.com
