David Brian Holley, age 59, of Parker, Colorado passed away peacefully on December 23, 2025 with his wife, Kim, by his side at University of Colorado Hospital Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, CO. He was born in Sonoma, California on May 7, 1966 to Joseph Calvin Holley and Carol Joan Ballou and raised primarily in Moraga, CA by his mother. He was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at the age of twelve. After graduating from Campolindo High School in 1985, he served a two-year full-time mission for the Church in Billings, Montana. In 1993 he graduated with a BA in Mass Communication from California State University, Hayward and went on to have a fulfilling career in industrial and construction sales and management, including a 21-year career working for Fastenal.
David met the love of his life, Kimberly Joy Hussey, in 2008 and they were married for time and all eternity in the Oakland California Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on September 24, 2010. The first six years of marriage they resided in Moraga, CA and then relocated to Parker, CO where they welcomed the birth of their three daughters, Sarah, Megan, and Tessa. He loved road trips with his family, especially visiting National Parks and appreciating the beauty that God gave us. David loved music, live concerts, movies, and the outdoors. He was a talented singer, songwriter, and guitar player, and had many of his songs professionally recorded. He loved to hike, downhill ski, and ride his motorcycle. David's health journey was valiant and an inspiration to many. After his first cardiac event twelve years ago, he beat the odds countless times. He received a donor heart September 1, 2017, enabling him to expand to a family of five. Following his transplant, he spoke to various medical groups about his journey from the perspective of a patient. Above all, David valued his faith, family, and friendships. He always talked about how much he loved his wife and kids with his medical care staff, and even with his weakened health he made the trip to California for his 40th high school reunion three months prior to his passing.
David is survived by his wife and three daughters; brother Joseph Frank Holley, sister Diana Lynn (Holley) Jones, and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held in Parker, CO on Saturday, 1/10/2026 at 3pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 7160 Bayou Gulch Rd, Parker, CO 80134 with a reception to follow. Services will be held in David's hometown of Moraga, CA on Saturday, 1/17/2026 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3776 Via Granada, Moraga, CA 94556. Visitation at 10am; funeral service at 11am; interment to follow at Oakmont Memorial Park in Lafayette, CA. Arrangements in California to be handled by Oak Park Hills Chapel.
