Daniel Oliveria, Jr. was born in Concord, California on July 5, 1927 and passed away on November 27, 2025 at his home in Meridian, Idaho. He was 98 years old.

Daniel was the first of three children born to Daniel Oliveria, Sr and Mary Miguel Oliveria. Daniel attended San Pablo Grammar School, Roosevelt Junior High School and Richmond Union High Schools.

As a child, dad spent summers working in the hay fields at a ranch in Concord, CA operated by his godfather Augustos Santos. He had paper routes and worked at Modern Furniture on 6th Street & MacDonald Avenue in Richmond, CA and at the Brickyards.

At age 17, Daniel joined the Merchant Marines. Later, he served in the US Army in Korea from 1954-1956...Daniel worked at CertainTeed and later was employed by Rheem Manufacturing on Chesley Ave in Richmond, CA, retiring after 43 years.

He first married One Love Griffin in the mid-1940’s and together had his first daughter, Sharron. He was married a second time to Jessie Lavern Hill in 1956 and bore a son Daniel Scott and a second daughter, Judy Eileen during the 1960’s.

Daniel was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Oliveria, Sr., his mother Mary Miguel Oliveria, his brother George “Pete” Oliveria, his sister Irene Oliveria and his wife of 63 years, Jessie Hill Oliveria.

He is survived by his daughters, Sharron Oliveria Hawkins and Judy Oliveria Bishop and a son, Daniel Scott Oliveria. Dad’s 8 grandchildren are: Todd Bramy, Lisa Waters, Lori Young (Lorin) Tony Haigh, Shannon Espinoza (Espi), Cody Bishop (Sarah), Garrett Bishop and Mitchell Bishop. Dad’s great-grandchildren are Chloe Bush (Aaron), Jme (Joshua), Lauryn Roderick, Isa Sunde, Thorfaen Young, Cooper Bishop and Maverick Bishop and his great-great grandchildren are Kiara, Skylar, Tristan, Korver and Halli Mae Bush.

Daniel was easygoing and a great storyteller...he enjoyed fishing for flounder, bass and sturgeon in the San Pablo Bay...he was an avid home gardener for many years and had a good sense of humor. He will be deeply missed by all and is now reunited with our mom, Jessie Hill Oliveria and other jubilant family members.

Dad’s celebration of life will be coordinated by Summers Funeral Home in Meridian, Idaho. A private interment is being held at the Sacramento Valley Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Dixon, California at a later date. We love and miss you dad!
