Edgar Leon Schenk
March 4, 1941 - December 25, 2025
Edgar Leon Schenk, 84 years old of Edgewood, was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend and a farmer passed away at his home on Christmas morning with his family at his side.
Leon was the youngest of 9 children born to Daniel and Dorothy Schenk. Leon was born in Tacoma, WA on March 4, 1941 and has lived on his property in Edgewood since he was four years old where he eventually took over the farm. Leon enjoyed raising beef cattle, chickens, ducks, geese and turkeys. He loved gardening and was very proud of his raspberries.
Leon drove concrete trucks since he was 22 years old where he retired several years ago from Stoneway Concrete in Seattle. Many people enjoyed visiting the Schenk farm where Leon took the time to show everyone the animals from feeding the chickens to bottle feeding the calves to swinging in the hay barn. Leon also worked 20+ years at the Puyallup Fair working for the Young Family in the pig palace with the mama and baby piglets. In addition to his parents Leon is preceded in death by his wife of almost 60 years Janet and his oldest son Andrew.
He will be greatly missed by his children Stephanie Schenk, Daniel (Apryl) Schenk and Connie (Stacey) Ota and his daughter-in-law Kiley Schenk. His grandchildren Michael (Preston), Zachary (Colleen), Ashlynn, Tyson, Tanner, Miley, Edgar, Leilani, Allyson, Makena & Makensey. His sister Marie Littlefield and his extended family and friends.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date that will be announced.
