Gary Duane Kinoshita
August 1, 1953-January 4, 2026
Gary was born August 1, 1953 in Greeley, Colorado to Albert and Misao (Ishida) Kinoshita. He grew up on the family farm 2 miles east of Ault, Colorado with his Grandmother Sunao Kinoshita, parents, and brother Alan Kinoshita. Gary spent his childhood working on the farm, which instilled his responsible, tireless work ethic.
Gary graduated from Highland High School in 1971, where he was actively involved in athletics and band. He played football, basketball, baseball and the trumpet. During his high school days, Gary and his friends played in a band called, “The Cinco Banditos”, which won the Kiwanis Stars of Tomorrow Talent Competition in 1971. Gary’s baseball abilities provided him the opportunity to play at the collegiate level as a bullpen catcher at Colorado State University. After 3 and a half years of college, Gary returned to the family farm until 1983 when he transitioned to managing other farms for a number of years.
During his time managing farms, Gary married Sandy Gross in 1976. Together they had three children, Cullen, Kamran, and Carly. Gary’s professional career led him to Ownership of Greenfield Mini-pivots and various agricultural sales positions.
In 2003, Gary married the love of his life, Cindy Lundy. Together they successfully blended a large family and enjoyed many wonderful years together.
He is survived by his wife Cindy Lundy, son Cullen (Brittany) Kinoshita, daughters Kamran (Bren) Kinoshita, Carly (Jason) Martinez, step-children Lee (Tonia) Griffith, Emily (Michael) Schluter, Christian (Hannah) Griffith, Abby (John) Cruz and 13 grandchildren Aya, Uriah, Tetsu, Adilynn, Tatum, Josiah, Avery, Enaya, Kailani, Hallie, Gabriel, Havilah, Sophia and one more on the way, brother Alan (Kitty) Kinoshita, sister Charlyne (Chip) Deckard. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Gary’s Celebration of Life will begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 10th at Eaton Community Church with a luncheon reception to immediately follow. We welcome you to honor Gary by wearing Hawaiian attire.
