In Christian Sympathy

Joyce Beverly Strohm of Lake Mills was called to her eternal rest on January 3, 2026, at the age of 93. She died in the sure and certain hope of the resurrection of the body and the life everlasting through faith in her Savior, Jesus Christ.

Joyce was born on July 16, 1932, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Alfred and Bertha Hollmann. She was baptized into Christ and later confirmed her faith on May 19, 1946. Joyce attended Mt. Lebanon Lutheran School through eighth grade and graduated from Lutheran High School in Milwaukee in 1950.

Joyce met the love of her life, Philip Arthur Strohm and they were married on August 30, 1952. During their 68 years of marriage they enjoyed traveling together and playing golf. Phil preceded her in death on January 22, 2021.

Joyce was a devoted and faithful partner in Phil’s ministry. She viewed their years of service at Lakeside Lutheran High School where she worked as a paraprofessional for many years as a special blessing. She was also a member of the Lakeside Guild from 1961 to 2013.

Joyce was a longtime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Lake Mills where she sang in the choir and was active in the Mission Society. Her life was firmly grounded in God’s Word, which guided her roles as wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Joyce took great pride in her family and found her greatest joy in preparing for family gatherings, holidays, and special celebrations. She was known for her warm hospitality, welcoming spirit, and the love she shared so generously with others.

She is survived by two children, Gary (Kris) Strohm of Milton and Mark (Vickie) Strohm of Jackson; 9 grandchildren Brad (Molly) Taylor, Ryan (Rebecca) Strohm, Greg (Shelley) Strohm, Jordan (Evelyn) Taylor, Lindsey (Nate) Scharrer, Kelsey (Matthew) Tiradani, Kendalyn (Tom) Voss, Michelle (Matt) Meske, and Derek (Jessica) Strohm; 25 great-grandchildren; brother Alan (Diane) Hollmann, nieces Chris (John) Ranson and Jennifer (Joel) Kluender, nephews Kim (Cindy) Hjerstedt and Jonathan (Molly) Hollmann; and special friends Ruth and Bill Olson.

She was preceded in death by her husband Philip, daughter Susan Taylor, sister Betty Hjerstedt and her parents.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 12th at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 1530 S. Main St., Lake Mills, WI 53551, with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM with service to follow. Memorials if desired, would be appreciated to Lakeside Luther High School.

Nitardy Funeral Home of Fort Atkinson is caring for the family.

Nitardy Funeral Homes - Fort Atkinson

We have proudly served the Southern Wisconsin community for over 90 years, when Hilmar A. Nitardy opened his first funeral home in the area. In 1984, his son Russ knew it was time to offer professional, compassionate services to the Fort Atkinson community, and we constructed a new funeral home to address its needs. We feel so fortunate to be a part of the community, and have grown our family alongside the community for three generations....
