Ruben Haun passed away Saturday December 6, 2025 at his home with family by his side. 

Ruben was born December 8, 1924 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska to parents Marie Yakel Haun and Jacob Haun, the seventh of ten children. 

He attended Scottsbluff area schools graduating SHS in 1941. Ruben was a WWII Army Infantry and Medical Corp Veteran honorable discharged as a SSGT. 

In January 1947 he moved to Weiser, ID. In 1948 he married Lola M. Coats. They had 6 children. She passed away in 1986. He later married Shirley L. Sams in 1992 adding 3 stepchildren and their families to his own. She passed away in 2005. 

Ruben was active in the lumber and hardware business for over 70 years in Weiser, ID, Vale, OR, Caldwell, ID and Paul, ID opening Hauns Hardware in 1979 still active, owned by Laura and Rob Haun. 

A celebration of life will be announced at a latter date. 

Do not grieve, I was blessed with a long life and wonderful descendants! Enjoy each and every day, the rest of your lives. I love you all!

Our funeral home opened in 2005 when Jerry and Janette Rost purchased the business. We’ve continued to grow along with Mountain Home. Jerry’s career began more than fifty years ago in Boise, and along the way, he acquired an 1897 horse-drawn funeral carriage, which we proudly display in our facility....
