Josephine Ann Dandurand (JoAnn), 80, passed away in her home located at 8055 North Silo Road in Parker, Colorado on January the 3rd 2026 at 8:17pm. She passed peacefully surrounded by family after many years of gracefully dealing with RA and Parkinson’s disease.
JoAnn was born on October 6, 1945 in Washington DC to Joseph and Rosina Cristaldi. JoAnn was an only child. She attended catholic schools, and continued her education at Loretta Heights College in Denver, Colorado where she earned her BS in Nursing. While attending college, she met and then soon married her husband of 57 years, Vincent Paul Dandurand.
JoAnn worked as a Nurse at Fort Logan Mental Hospital before becoming a mother to her first child in 1969. Two more children followed, one in 1971, and the last in 1982. She was a full-time mother, wife and so much more. JoAnn was very active in volunteering for school activities, and taught catechism classes at the church. She created and taught stained glass art. She sewed and baked and enjoyed musicals. She loved to sing. It was West Side Story first, then Pete’s Dragon, then Neil Diamond, then later in life IL VOLO.
JoAnn became an avid quilter and got together regularly with her “Back Porch Buddies” to quilt and go on adventures (she loved you all dearly). She generously donated to charities including World Vision, Unbound, and St Jude.
JoAnn is known for her unconditional love of friends and family. She was a beautiful soul who is leaving her legacy of love and friendship behind. She will be deeply missed.
JoAnn is survived by her devoted husband Vincent Dandurand of Parker; her children, Kristi Stephen of Parker, Shanna Rael of Elizabeth, and Joseph Dandurand of Parker; her 3 grandchildren; Gabriel Rael of Parker, Samantha Rael of Elizabeth, and Kaley Stephen of Ft. Collins. She was preceded in death by her parents; Rosina Cristaldi 7/12/2007, and Joseph Cristaldi 7/14/2011.
Services will be held at Our Lady of Visitation Catholic Church in Kiowa, located at 34201 Co Rd 33, Kiowa, CO 80117 on January 13, 2026 at 11:00am. A viewing will take place before the mass at 10am. Mass will be followed by a graveyard service located on site at the Queen of Heaven Cemetery. Reception to follow at JoAnn and Vincent’s home at 8055 N. Solo Rd. Parker, Colorado 80138.
JoAnn loved deep red burgundy flowers, but would love to see her charities for children be honored with donations in lieu of flowers.
