Linda Lou King, 82, of Duffield went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at Lee County Community Hospital. She was born in Kingsport to the late Roma and Georgie Boggs. Linda was an avid gardener and enjoyed crocheting. She attended Sprit of Deliverance Tabernacle Church for many years. She worked in housekeeping for many years at Indian Path Medical Center. Linda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl King; son, Mark King; brothers, Larry and Michael Boggs; sisters, Louise Overbay and Mary Clemons.

Survivors include her sons, Brian and Michael King; daughter, Michelle King; grandchildren, Haley White and husband Dominique, Tyler Berry and wife Bailey, Jacob Berry, and Isaac Berry; great-grandchildren, Freya and Bellamy White; sister, Anna Hayes; sister-in-law, Barbara King; brother-in-law, Wayne Overbay; along with a host of friends and extended family.

The family will receive friends from 5pm to 7pm on Monday, January 12, 2026, at Scott County Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow with Rev. Jack Edwards officiating.

A graveside service will be conducted at 1pm on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at Hamlett-Dobson Memorial Park with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 12:50pm.
