Lester Eugene Pridemore, age 94, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 8th, 2026.
Lester was born and raised in Kyle’s Ford, Tennessee, where he grew up on a farm alongside ten siblings. At the age of 16, he moved to Kingsport, Tennessee, where he would spend much of his life and become well known by many.
Lester retired from Borden Mills, where he worked as a supervisor and was respected for his strong work ethic and steady leadership. He was a loving, charming, and charismatic man who had a natural way of making people feel welcome. He shared kindness freely—whether through a friendly conversation, a warm smile, or his famous white almond bark peanut butter cookies. He was known for his gentle spirit, easygoing nature, and the way he made others feel at home. To those who knew him, Lester was truly a great man.
Lester was also an active member of his local senior center, where he helped others and embraced every opportunity to travel and meet new people. He found joy in connecting with others, and his vibrant energy made him a familiar face wherever he went. One of his big messages to those around him was to never stop moving—physically, mentally, and emotionally. He believed that staying active, no matter your age, was key to living a fulfilling life.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Fern Pridemore, in 2011, and his son, Rick Pridemore, in 2009. He is survived by his daughter, Donna Pridemore Hastings, and her husband, John Hastings. Lester was blessed with several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, along with siblings, extended family, and many friends who will remember him fondly and carry his kindness with them.
A visitation of family and friends will be held on Monday, January 12th, 2026, from 12:30 pm to 1:00 pm with a funeral service to follow with Pastor Donnie Brannon officiating. A committal service will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park with Todd Jarvis, Christopher Wood, Larry Joe Pridemore, Jim Wood, Bill Hudson, Jaxon Jarvis, and Todd Landreth serving as pallbearers.
Lester lived a full life, led with a generous heart, and leaves behind memories that will continue to bring smiles for years to come.
