Jolene Clare Cunico, born May 29, 1950, in Trinidad, Colorado, was a loving mother, grandmother, wife, sister, aunt, and friend whose kindness touched everyone she met.

On June 7, 1969, Jolene married the love of her life, John Cunico, beginning a marriage rooted in devotion, family, and faith. Jolene had the biggest heart for others and was the most loyal friend anyone could ever ask for. She truly spread sunshine everywhere she went.

Jolene found joy in traveling, spending time with friends, golfing, dancing, cooking, and—most of all—being with her family. After being a stay-at-home Mom, she worked for Colorado Springs School District Eleven as a special education assistant and then a librarian until retirement. She had a special tenderness for children and cherished the time she spent holding babies in the NICU. Caring for her children and grandchildren was one of her greatest joys and proudest callings.

A devoted Catholic, Jolene lived her faith through love, service, and compassion. Everyone who knew her was drawn to her sweetness, warmth, and wonderful sense of humor. To know Jolene was to love her.

Jolene spent her final three years at Melody Living in Colorado Springs, where she made many friends and enjoyed social activities until transitioning to Memory Care. Even there, her gentle spirit and kindness continued to shine.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Cunico and her son in law, Marty Grantz.

Jolene is survived by her daughter Danette Grantz (Shawn), her son Brian Cunico (Anne), her grandsons Nick Grantz and Will Grantz, her sister Cheryl Favatella (Bill), and her sister Donna Monteleone (Paul), along with many extended family members and dear friends who will forever hold her close in their hearts.

She will be deeply missed, but her love, light, and spirit will live on in all who were blessed to know her.
