Evelyn May Twomey went to her heavenly home 1/5/26 after suffering a stroke on 1/1/26. She passed peacefully into the loving arms of Jesus while surrounded by her four children.
Born Evelyn May Tuckey 7/26/27 at Olympia, Washington. Evelyn lived her entire 98.5 years in Western Washington. She married Jack H. Taylor and had four children. She married Thomas J. Twomey and the couple raised their seven children until Tom’s death. Evelyn worked at Fort Lewis Logistics Center, Len Bradley Insurance, Idlewild Elementary as a lunch lady, and her most loved job a school bus driver for the Clover Park School District #400. Evelyn was a 60+ year member of Lake City Community Church.
Evelyn is preceded in death by her mother, Rochelle Bloom Tuckey, her father Wallace Levi Tuckey, brother Bud Tuckey, sister Blanche Tuckey (Richardson), husbands Jack Taylor and Thomas Twomey, daughter Judy Twomey, grandson Tom Hightower, and great granddaughter Emily Burfoot.
Evelyn is survived by her children Jacqueline M. Hightower (Victor), Teresa A. Taylor, Kenneth A. Taylor (Lori), John W. Taylor (Vickie), Lynanne Twomey (Andy), Jim Twomey (Virginia) and thirteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and her dog Sunny.
Celebration of life will be at Lake City Community Church, 8810 Lawndale Ave SW, Lakewood, WA 98498 at 10:30 am, 1/17/26
