Luigi DeLucia, 89, of Garnerville, New York, passed away peacefully while at home on January 8, 2026.
He was born in Santa Maria a Vico, Italy in 1936 to Vincenzo and Anna Piscitelli-DeLucia.
In 1955, he immigrated to the United States through Bronx, NY, eventually settling in Garnerville, NY where he met his wife of 60 years, Caroline Peluso-DeLucia.
He worked for World Wide Volkswagen in Orangeburg and Wyeth in Pearl River.
He was among the founding members of The Italian American Social Club in Haverstraw and up until recently was an active member of St. Gregory Barbarigo Parish Ushers in Garnerville.
Luigi is remembered by all for treating everyone with dignity and respect, for his humility, and for being a person of high integrity.
He leaves a wonderful legacy filled with faith, family, and strong work ethic.
Luigi is survived by his wife, Caroline, son Vincent and his wife Dianne, son Joseph and his wife Adrienne, his sister Lena DeLucia-Willett, granddaughters Gabrielle DeLucia-Miele (Scott Miele) and Victoria DeLucia (Dean Bauman), grandsons Louis DeLucia-Consolati (Matt DeLucia-Consolati), and Joseph DeLucia, and great grandson Luca John Miele.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, from 4pm-8pm at TJ McGowan Sons Funeral Home in Garnerville, NY. Mass will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, 11am, at St. Gregory Barbarigo Church in Garnerville followed by entombment at St. Anthony's Mausoleum, Nanuet, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Luigi's memory to United Hospice of Rockland, 11 Stokum Lane, New City, NY 10956.
