Shirley Elizabeth Schenbeck passed away peacefully on January 9, 2026 in Denver, Colorado at the age of 92.  She would have turned 93 at the end of the month.   Born and raised in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, Shirley began her career as a second grade teacher before dedicating herself to raising her family as a full-time homemaker.    She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer, and her siblings Arline, Roland, Willard, and Melvin.   She leaves behind her cherished children, Stephanie (Craig) and Steven (Kris); her beloved grandchildren, Whitney (Mike) and Jessica (Matt); and her adored great-grandchildren, Gavin, Aubrey, and Holly, who all brought her immense joy.    Family meant everything to Shirley. She treasured time spent together, whether it was sharing stories while enjoying red wine and/or vodka, or traveling to new places. Shirley enjoyed traveling, golf, and gardening.  She traveled to all but one U.S. state and especially cherished a family trip to London and France, combining her love of travel and British royalty! She and her sister coordinated annual golf trips for all of their lady friends for more than 25 years.    A celebration of life will be held in the spring.    In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a charity of your choice in memory of Shirley Elizabeth Schenbeck.
