Robert Lee Bright, age 97 of Weber City, VA, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 13, 2026. Robert was born on October 21, 1928, in Hiltons, VA, to Earnest and Zina Bright. Robert married Ruby Falin and after 72 years of raising a family, she preceded him in death September 25, 2025.
Robert worked many years as a brick mason, and after retiring, he enjoyed working and planting in his garden. Robert was a devout Christian and a faithful member of Midway Baptist Church, Gate City, for 60 years.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Ruby Bright; three brothers, J.W. Bright, Garn Bright, and Carles Bright; and two sisters, Clevia Hensley, and Daisey Taylor. Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Michael Bright and his wife, Theresa; nine nieces, Nancy Stanley and husband, JC, Karen Sherman, Gwen Taylor, Angie Salyers and husband, Jerry, Theresa Shupe and husband, David, Kathy Owens and husband, Sam, Shirley Ann Montgomery, Pam Collier, and Sandy Miller; nephew, Arthur Falin; sister-in-law, Nancy Falin; and many other loving family and friends.
There will be a graveside service held on Friday, January 16, 2026, at Holston View Cemetery at 3:00 pm. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 2:50 pm.
