Shirley Ann Taylor Rein was born on March 4, 1936, in Yakima, Washington, to Vesta Spall and Clarence Taylor. She grew up in Greeley, where she graduated from Greeley High School in 1954. It was there that she met the love of her life, Johnny Rein. They were married on May 29, 1955, and shared 70 wonderful years of marriage at the time of her passing—a true testament to their love and devotion.

Shirley’s greatest joy in life was her family, especially being a mother. She poured her heart into raising her children, Brad and Jana, and took great pride in caring for her home and supporting her family. Her love, patience, and quiet strength shaped the lives of those around her and will continue to be felt for generations.

Their son, Brad Rein, was born on March 27, 1956, and their daughter, Jana Gettman, was born on February 4, 1959. Shirley was a devoted and loving mother who found her purpose in nurturing her children and celebrating every milestone in their lives.

She was a proud grandmother to Jennifer Frank, Jacob Rein, Chelsea Furnish, and Delaney Furnish. She cherished time spent visiting with them, attending their activities, and cheering them on at sporting events. She loved each of them deeply and was incredibly proud of the people they became. Shirley was especially delighted when she became “Old Grandma” to her great-grandchildren, Chase and Reece Walker. They brought her immense joy, and she loved playing with them, holding them close, and watching them grow.

Shirley enjoyed reading, painting, playing cards, and—most of all—shopping. She could often be found with a small dog in her lap and a Diet Coke in her hand. She loved spending time relaxing on the farm, checking water, and hunting for arrowheads, finding peace and contentment in the simple joys of life.

Shirley will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered for her kindness, devotion to family, and unwavering love.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Vesta McDowell; her brother, Darrell Taylor; and her sister, Beverly Pope.

She is survived by her husband, Johnny Rein; her son, Brad Rein; her daughter, Jana Gettman; her grandchildren, Jennifer Frank, Jacob Rein, Chelsea Furnish, and Delaney Furnish; and her great-grandchildren, Chase and Reece Walker.

Shirley was a woman of faith, and her family finds comfort in knowing she is now at peace in Heaven, reunited with loved ones and resting in the presence of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
