Rachel celebrated life for 96 years before passing peacefully at home with her family by her side. She had been a mother to five children, grandmother to 13 grandchildren and great grandmother to 26 great grands. She was married to George Morgan for 62 years. Rachel's many roles included homemaker, school bus driver and mail courier for the Poudre Fire Department.
Rachel and George were both faithful followers of Jesus Christ and loved to share their testimony and tell of the many times that God intervened to heal a friend or family member. Rachel's final prayer - that she goes from her home at 1809 straight to heaven - was answered on Wednesday, January 7th.
Rachel's favorite passage from the Bible was Psalm 121, which contains these verses:
"My help comes from the Lord who made heaven and earth!
The Lord keeps watch over you as you come and go,
both now and forever."
Rachel had a spark and zest for life and will be dearly missed. Rachel was preceded in death by her husband, George and her eldest son, Doug. She is survived by her brother Russ Green (Ross), son Ken Morgan, daughter Carolee Harper (Jack), daughter Cindy Wiles (Galen), son Greg Morgan (Brenda), and daughter-in-law Linda Morgan, along with their families, and numerous nieces and nephew.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, January 22nd, 3pm at Timberline Church in Fort Collins.
