Our beloved husband and father, Jim Lybarger, passed away January 5, 2026 after a long battle with heart disease. He was 92 years old. The son of Walker and Virginia Lybarger and brother George Walker preceded him in death.
Jim was born in Martins Ferry, Ohio. He was raised in Coshocton, Ohio, and Loveland, Colorado. He attended college and graduated from Colorado University, then served in Korea for two years in the Army.
He met the love of his life, Shirley Maltby, in Denver, and they spent 66 years together raising their three children Teddi (Bruce Colkitt); Mark (Sonya); Scott (Beth) after losing their first child, Wendy, to leukemia.
While raising his family he worked in sales several years before joining his father in business in Loveland, also serving in the community and served a term as president of the Chamber of Commerce.
Over the years he enjoyed being involved in various sports activities and supporting his children in academia and athletics. He enjoyed golf, tennis, going to the beach, biking, hiking, and traveling. He always enjoyed being together with his family.
He loved and served our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ through church and activities including leading Bible studies in small group. He is blessed to be survived by nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
