A new star shines in the sky as we share the passing of Joyce Carol Krueger, a loving mother, grandmother and sister.

Joyce passed away peacefully on January 11, 2026, at the age of 88.

Born on April 4, 1937, in Menominee, Michigan, Joyce was the eldest of twelve children born to Louis and Betty DuPont. She spent her childhood on the family farm, where she learned the enduring values of hard work, resilience, and devotion to family, values she carried with her throughout her life. At just fourteen years old, Joyce began working in Chicago as a nanny and housekeeper, demonstrating her strong work ethic and independence at an early age.

Her work eventually brought her to Marinette, Wisconsin, where she met and married her husband, Joseph Krueger. The next two decades were spent as a devoted military wife and mother, traveling from base to base in seven different states across the United States while raising their five children. These years concluded in Widefield, Colorado. After the passing of her husband, Joyce remained there for many years before relocating to Longmont, Colorado, in 2012.

Though small in stature, Joyce lived life with remarkable strength and conviction. She was steadfast in her beliefs about family, hard work, and the importance of never wasting anything. Thoughtful, independent, and determined, she believed she could accomplish anything in her own way. Joyce found joy in simple pleasures such as long walks to the park, baking, and especially welcoming loved ones into her home, where there were always fresh cookies waiting.

Joyce is survived by four children, eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, three sisters, and two brothers.

In accordance with Joyce’s wishes, no formal service will be held. Instead, family and friends are encouraged to honor her memory by following her often repeated advice: “Make good memories.”

Forever on our minds, forever in our hearts.
