Merri “Sue” Elder-Fording 

 

Born to James and Wilma Elder Left this world December 18th 2025 surrounded by family. She leaves behind her 3 children Angie, JR, & Tasha (&Joe) her grandchildren Samantha, Alexa, Jordan, Skyen, TT, Olly. Survived by Her brother Jimmie, her sisters Judy (Ron), Wendy(joining Keith & Debbie) and her numerous nieces and nephews.  Sue’s love of animals and her Granddaughter Olly were her biggest passions in recent life. Many who knew her throughout life knew she was a big animal lover. Never a memory of her without one or 10. We will miss her zest for a good laugh her political rants and of course her recipe shares.

As the only funeral home in Elmore County, the staff at Rost Funeral Home work hard to be active members of the Mountain Home community and to be there to take care of families in every way possible when the need arises. Our funeral home opened in 2005 when Jerry and Janette Rost purchased the business. We’ve continued to grow along with Mountain Home. Jerry’s career began more than fifty years ago in Boise, and along the way, he acquired an 1897 horse-drawn funeral carriage, which we proudly display in our facility....
