It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Robert "Rob" L. Batiste, Jr., who left us on January 8, 2026, in Parkland, Washington. Born on September 23, 1983, in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, Rob brought joy, laughter, and boundless love to all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Rob was a cherished son to Robert Batiste Sr. and Jascline M Batiste. He was a prideful brother to his siblings—Shwana McCrimmon of Fayetteville, NC, Marquis Batiste, Brandon Batiste, Syrita Nicole Simons, Tony Milton Batiste, and Terence Izell Batiste—whose lives he touched deeply. As a father, Rob was a guiding light to his son, Robert Batiste III, and daughter, Alice Annamae Corey. He celebrated the joy of grandfatherhood with his grandson, Lucius Franklin Iris Batiste, who brought him endless delight. He is survived by his Grandmother Mary F McCrimmon, 3 nieces and 3 nephews. He is also remembered fondly by a host of uncles, aunts, and extended family who mourn his loss.

Rob was a bright and dedicated student, achieving straight A’s in high school before earning his GED at the young age of 17. He briefly attended Bates College, where he continued to explore his intellectual curiosity. Beyond academics, Rob was renowned for his resourcefulness; a tinkerer at heart, he thrived on fixing things and helping others, always ready to lend a hand.

Described as funny and loyal, Rob had an innate ability to engage others in meaningful conversation, particularly with the older generations. He found joy in these interactions, reflecting his kind-hearted nature and deep appreciation for the wisdom of life. Rob's warmth and love for family and friends made him a truly enjoyable person to be around.

His passing leaves an irreplaceable void in the hearts of those who loved him, and he will be dearly missed. A memorial service to honor Rob’s life will be held at Edwards Memorial Home in Lakewood, Washington, on January 21, 2026, at 11020 S Tacoma Way, Lakewood, WA 98499.
