Bernard Joseph Brey, age 75 was sent to his eternal home on December 26, 2025 at Blue Palms Health and Rehabilitation at Fletcher in Tampa, Florida. 

Bernard was born on June 28, 1950 and grew up in Cooperstown, Wisconsin.  He was baptized and confirmed at St. James Catholic Church, Cooperstown, Wisconsin.  Bernard grew up on the home farm and graduated from Mishicot High School with the class of 1969.  Bernard worked at the FS Feed Co-op with his Dad.  In 1985, Bernard moved to Tampa, Florida.  He worked various jobs in Florida and for 30 plus years, he managed the Mayflower Motel in Tampa, where he was by friends and tenants alike. 

Bernard is survived by ten brothers. Wilbert Brey Jr, Dan (Julie) Brey, Jeffery (Susan) Brey, Randy (Jeanne) Brey, David (Marlene) Brey, Brian (Jill) Brey, Anthony (Patti) Brey,  Andrew (Lori) Brey, Todd (Joan Hoogland) Brey, Joel (Sara Brey), three sisters,  Sandra (Jack) Woodkey, Cindy Hansen, Heidi (Mark) Dvorachek, one sister in law,  Atoya Brey.  Bernard is also survived by many nieces and nephews, his coworker and fellow tenant, Angela Miniela and friends that became his family.  Bernard is proceeded in death by his parents, Wilbert Sr and Virginia (Novitski) Brey, one brother, Kevin Brey,  one brother in law, Dale Hansen, along with many aunts and uncles. 

Loyless Funeral Homes of Tampa, Florida, assisted the Brey Family with arrangements.  Bernard has been laid to rest in a private ceremony by the funeral home. 

A very special thank you to Angela Miniela, a tenant and who looked out for Bernard, along with many other tenants and locals who became his family.
