Kathryn Margaret Wiedmer–Kowalkowski was born on November 30, 1945, and peacefully took her final breath on January 16, 2026. Anyone who knew Kathy—our mom—knew she was truly unstoppable, or as she proudly called herself, a “stubborn Swiss.” There was nothing she wouldn’t do for her girls. She worked three jobs while raising her family, teaching us to be strong, independent, brave, and to never back down from what we believe in. Our mom absolutely loved music. Dancing was her greatest joy, and singing karaoke anywhere there was a microphone quickly followed. And of course, her love for the Green Bay Packers ran deep and was always proudly worn. Kathy’s strong faith and devotion to Jesus carried her throughout her life. She often reminded us that her four daughters were her proudest achievement, and we always knew how deeply loved we were. While there are no words that can truly express the heartbreak our family feels, we find peace in knowing our mom is now resting in the loving arms of her Heavenly Father—free from the painful struggle of dementia and the toll it took on her body. Her words and lessons will live on: keep dancing, be kind and compassionate, work hard, say “I love you” to those you care about because tomorrow is never promised, and always put a little change in the plate at church. Kathy will be deeply missed by her loving children, Jodie Howard, Jackie Heger, Jeanna Jenkins, and Jenell Dorn; her siblings, Patricia, Linda, and Alan, her cherished grandchildren, Nathan, Travis, Colton, Cameron, Chloe, Hunter, Chase, and Mason; and her treasured great-grandchildren, Brantley, Owen, Kinsley, and Willow. She was preceded by her beloved parents, Ernest and Alberta Wiedmer, siblings; Christine, Billy, and Ernest Jr. A Celebration of Life will be held on June 13, 2026, at The Boar’s Nest in Allen’s Grove. Please wear your dancing shoes and your Packers gear as we honor Kathy’s joyful spirit. The family extends heartfelt thanks to Jefferson EMS and Fort Atkinson Hospital for their compassionate care and support.
