She is preceded in death by her mother ,Juanita Barlow, her father ,Collie Pate, her brother, Cary Pate, and her grandson ,Eric Lewis. She lived a life full of kindness, warmth, and an unwavering spirit that could brighten even the dullest days. Elaine was not just a homemaker; she was the heart of her family. With a knack for making everyone feel loved and included, she mastered the art of nurturing, similar to a well-tended garden where the blooms just keep coming. She took immense joy in watching her children—Darrell Lewis and Snead Lewis—grow into the fine individuals they are today, complemented by the pride she felt for her daughters, Cary Metzker and Lory Mayes. Her legacy will undoubtedly be carried on through her husband, Lynn Lewis, her beloved kids, grandkids, her sisters, Minnie Clemmons and Colleen Grinslade, and a constant stream of nieces and nephews who knew they always had a supportive cheerleader in their corner.
