Willard “O’Neal” Lindler, 83, of West Columbia, SC, met his Lord and savior on January 18, 2026 peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. O’Neal was born in 1942 in West Columbia to the late Void and Annie Mae Lindler. O’Neal attended BC High School. He had many jobs as a teenager including a gas station attendant and driving a school bus (which ultimately led to his love story with Kathy). He later began working building houses alongside his father. He married the love of his life in 1965. They spent 55 wonderful years together building a family that he was so very proud of. He and his father opened Lindler Manufacturing Company in 1970 where he was still working until health problems prevented that this past year. He always had a strong work ethic and worked hard his entire life to make a great life for his family. O’Neal was a very loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. He enjoyed spending time with his family, taking trips to the beach, woodworking, Gamecock football, singing along to Elvis songs, and working/playing on his tractors. He loved talking to people and he never met a stranger. O’Neal had a huge impact on the lives of everyone who was lucky enough to meet him.

He leaves behind his children: Travis Lindler (Dana), Tracy Lindler (Mikki), and Tara Inabinet; grandchildren: Shane Lindler (Chandler), Chad Lee, Austin Lee (Heather), Amber King (Thomas), Josie Endrenyi (Grayson), Taylor Lindler, Dawson Inabinet, and Trista Lindler; 2 great-grandchildren: Emma and Liam; sister: Betty Scott; brother Ronnie Lindler (Sybil); sisters-in-law: Marcia Padgett, Terri Elliott, and Tonya Sasser; brothers-in-law: Hal Tyler (Judy), and Don Tyler (Cindy); numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 55 years, Kathy Lindler; parents, Void and Annie Mae Lindler; and sister, Helen Buff.

A funeral service for O’Neal will be held at 12:00 pm on Thursday January 22, 2026 in the Chapel at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, with Staff Minister Andrew Pedde officiating. Burial at Southland Memorial Gardens will immediately follow the service. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the service beginning at 10:00am. Pallbearers will be Shane Lindler, Chad Lee, Austin Lee, Dawson Inabinet, Thomas King, and Grayson Endrenyi.
