Warren Berg, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away mid-December leaving behind a legacy of hard work, quiet strength, and a bit of stubbornness.

He was born and raised on a farm in Minnesota, where he learned the value of perseverance from an early age. He was the son of a decorated World War II veteran, Ralph Berg and Joyce (Gutzmann) Berg. Growing up in the wide-open fields of rural Minnesota shaped his character giving him a lifelong appreciation for honest work, fixing things, and for the simple joys of life.

He met the love of his life at a barn dance in Montgomery, Minnesota. It was there that he first saw his wife-to-be, Pat, and they built a life side by side. They married in New Prague, Minnesota, and soon after settled there to begin their journey as a young family. He worked as a meat cutter at Jerry’s Fairway Foods, the grocery store owned by his in-laws, where he developed a work ethic and skill set that would carry him throughout his career.

After the birth of their son, the family moved to Minneapolis, where he continued his work as a proud member of the meat cutters union with a career that spanned more than 30 years. He was widely respected for his dependability, working many weekends and declaring he had never taken a sick day as he approached retirement.

Outside of work, he poured his heart into creating a joyful, adventurous life for his family. Summers were spent on Minnesota lakes—boating, fishing, waterskiing, and savoring every moment of sunshine on the water. Winters brought a different kind of family time while ice skating on frozen ponds behind the neighborhood. His love for the outdoors and for coaching his son and daughter's parks and rec teams shaped many of the family’s memories which he carried into more recent years while watching his grandkids play hockey, baseball, football, and volleyball.

He also had a knack for home improvement and could often be found tinkering in the garage with something new he had seen and thought to himself, "I can make that." Among his many projects, he especially loved building the deck and gazebo that wrapped around the family pool in Minnesota—spaces that became the backdrop for countless gatherings, water volleyball, and quiet nights on the grill. Grilling swordfish became his favorite and perhaps set the dream of having a place in the Sunshine State.

In his Florida retirement years, he found a new passion that brought him great joy (aside from watching The Price Is Right every day)—Wednesday morning Cars and Coffee gatherings at a local bakery parking lot. He loved spending time with “the guys,” listening to Oldies Radio, talking about engines, restoration projects, and the stories behind their collectible cars. He proudly brought his convertible Mustang, sharing in the camaraderie and friendships that grew from those mornings.

Above all, he was a man devoted to his family. He led with quiet kindness, unwavering loyalty, and a steady presence that made everyone feel supported. His legacy lives on with the old-fashioned values he instilled and the memories he left behind.Preceded in death by his mother, Joyce Berg (Gutzmann); his father, Ralph Berg; his sister, Bonnie Berg and his brother, Darryll Berg. He is survived by his loving wife, Pat Berg; son, Garrett Berg (Erica), and grandson, Grant Berg; his daughter, Karen Burdette (Keith) and grandkids TJ Keck, Thomas Keck, Trinity Keck, Ethan Burdette, and Sydney Burdette; his step-mother Gerry Berg; his half brother, Brian Berg; and step-brother, Jody Talschow (Connie), along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life in Florida is planned for March 27, 2026 from 4 - 6pm at Farley's Funeral Home, 265 Nokomis Ave S, Venice FL, 34285. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Foundation for Peripheral Neuropathy, www.foundationforpn.org
