Ilene Marie Deonier, known lovingly as Marie, 92, of Caldwell, Idaho, passed away peacefully in Nampa, Idaho, surrounded by her loving family in the comfort of their presence.

Born October 27, 1933, in Caldwell, Idaho, to Richard Pedersen of Aalborg, Denmark and Greeta Pedersen of Kansas, Marie's life came full circle when she returned to her beloved hometown, settling in a house across from her childhood home.

After graduating Caldwell high school, Marie pursued nursing and worked in private medical offices. Following her marriage, she and Alan lived in Boise, then moved to Sidney, Montana, and later to Billings, Montana, where she discovered her true calling in the insurance industry. She became an exceptionally successful insurance broker with Fortis, earning numerous awards and luxury travel experiences for excellence throughout her career. In 2000, Marie's dedication to her clients led to a landmark victory in Deonier & Associates v. Paul Revere Life Insurance Company before the Montana Supreme Court. This case protected clients from insurance companies withholding critical defense strategies and established important precedents that improved insurance coverage standards for countless Montana policyholders.

Marie was married to Alan Deonier in 1950.  They had a wonderful family and many adventures together.  Her greatest joy was her family.

She treasured time at the family cabin along the Middle Fork of the Payette River near Boise National Forest, where she enjoyed the company of loved ones, soaking in nature. An avid traveler, she especially cherished visiting her father's family in Denmark and exploring Europe, Alaska, Washington D.C., and San Francisco. Her favorite cruises included the Baltic Sea, Mediterranean, Panama Canal, Alaska and Hawaii. At home, she cultivated beautiful roses and doted on her fluffy Bichon companion.

Known for her calm, loving nature and unwavering support as both friend and mother, Marie approached life with grace, dignity, and elegance.

She is survived by her daughter Angela Delia, son David Deonier, grandchildren Giovanna Delia; Jason Deonier, Josh Deonier, and April Bryant; Daron Deonier and Ryan Deonier, and siblings Marti Taylor and Arnold Pedersen. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Alan, brother Harold and son Daniel.

Services will be held on 26 January 2026 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church 1122 W Linden St, Caldwell, ID 83605 with graveside services at Caldwell's Canyon Hill Cemetery. Streaming will be available or those unable to attend in person.  Arrangements are under the care of Flahiff Funeral Chapel.
