Attilio Napolitano, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, passed away on January 16, 2026, in Tucson, Arizona. He had just celebrated his 92nd birthday on December 28, 2025.   Attilio was born in San Fili, Italy, to Vincenzo Napolitano and Francesca Carelli. As a young man, he came to the United States to join his father and sister in Connecticut, carrying with him a strong work ethic, deep faith, and a love for family that defined his life.   He met the love of his life, Maria, through his sister Cesira; they worked together. Maria was just 18 years old, and after an eight-month courtship, they were married on June 28, 1958. Their marriage spanned 67 years and was a testament to devotion, commitment, and enduring love.   Attilio was a tireless worker who never shied away from hard work. He took on many jobs to provide for his family before beginning a 33-year career at General Electric as a forklift operator. After taking early retirement, he stayed home for only one month before returning to work at Aqua Turf Restaurant, one of Connecticut's most well-known wedding and banquet venues. There, his dedication, cleanliness, and excellence earned him the respect of the owner, who personally trained him to become a chef. His work ethic and pride in doing things well were hallmarks of his life.   One of Attilio's greatest passions was soccer. He began playing in Italy at a young age and continued until the age of 21. In the United States, he played for many years in Connecticut and later founded a girl's soccer team called the Tornados, sharing his love of the sport and encouraging young athletes.   Attilio found joy in simple pleasures - watching Wheel of Fortune, celebrating holidays surrounded by family, and cherishing time with those he loved most.   One of his proudest moments were the births of his granddaughters, Sara Marie Twyman and Veronica Anna Napolitano. Another treasured memory was celebrating his 50th wedding anniversary with Maria, a milestone that reflected a lifetime of shared love.   He was also a devoted dog lover. Over the years, he cherished Prince, his German Shepherd; Rambo, his Doberman; and in Tucson, Cookie, who brought him and Maria great happiness.   Above all, Attilio remained steadfast in his Catholic faith. He believed deeply in God and held strong hope that h e would one day b e reunited with his loved ones who had gone before him.   Attilio is survived by his devoted wife, Maria Napolitano, his son, Vincenzo Napolitano; his daughter, Francesca Napolitano; his granddaughters Sara Marie Twyman (24) and Veronica Anna Napolitano (17); and his sisters, Cesira Cesario of Southington, Connecticut, and Lina Perillo of Old Saybrook, Connecticut. He was predeceased by his sister Rita Mazzulla of Argentina, Luigina Mazzulla of Southington, Connecticut, Maria Tieso of Italy and his brother Alfredo Napolitano of Argentina, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.   Attilio loved his family deeply and made countless sacrifices so they would never go without. He will be remembered for his constant smile, infectious laughter, and wonderful sense of humor. He was truly one of a kind.   He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Heaven is blessed to welcome its newest angel - one who will surely be telling jokes, spreading joy, and keeping everyone smiling until we meet again.
