Linda Sue Lee-Fones of Pine Grove, 84, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. She was born in East Prairie, Missouri, to the late Raidt and Gladys (Hinchey) Lee.
Linda married her first husband, Thomas Menley, in 1959. In 1968, they moved to Amador County and had four children. In October of 1982, Linda married her beloved husband of 43 years, Dennis Fones. With this union, she gained three stepchildren.
Linda worked at Amador Hospital for 30 years. She loved working with the patients and was still remembered at the hospital. Linda enjoyed gardening, her roses, and always stopped for red birds (Cardinals). She was known for her goulash recipe, which she always made for her grandchildren. She loved her family and was known for the spark in her eyes and her sassy nature.
Linda is survived by her husband Dennis; children John Menley, Lisa Brenner, Kyla (Jeffrey) Allen, Cherri Menley, Dena McBride, Donna Schmer, Robert Fones; grandchildren Mason (Megz), Megan, Lydia, Marissa, Katelyn, Abigail (Eliud) Chacon, Jessica, Joshua, Carrie, Donna, Christopher, Casey, Brandon, Brice, Christy, Katie; great grandchildren Lily, Ian, Kennedy, Holden, Alice and Charlie. She is preceded in death by her son Thomas Menley, grandsons Levi and James, brother Eddie, and sister Marylou. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.danerimortuary.com
