It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Maria Guadalupe Garcia. Maria was born on August 8, 1932 in Cuba, New Mexico. She passed away peacefully at her home, in Los Lunas, NM, surrounded by loved ones, on January 18, 2026. Throughout her 93 blessed years, she was a devoted wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, and friend to many.

She was a dedicated homemaker who created a house full of memories, good food and love; where anyone was welcome to stop by for a visit. You could often find her watering her roses or in the kitchen baking her famous empanadas, biscochitos and tortillas. 

Maria devoted her life to her family and to her faith; she truly loved spending time with loved ones, playing bingo and going to church. She was a true friend to all, whether it be chatting with someone new or walking over to say hi to a neighbor, everyone she met felt touched by her love.

In addition to her parents, Eduardo and Aurelia, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Garcia, five brothers, Pablo, Robert, Ross, Gregorio, Manual; two sisters, Frances and Pablita. 

She is survived by three daughters, Barbara Sandoval (James), Cindy Garcia, Roxanne Sandoval (Victor); four grandchildren Lilly, Victoria, Nicholas, Chachi (Madison): one sister Sara Trujillo and many nephews and nieces.
