In Loving Memory of Patricia Leyva
May 4, 1949 – January 18, 2026
Patricia Leyva, a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully in her home on January 18, 2026, at the age of 76.
Born on May 4, 1949, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, Patricia was raised by her father and mother, George and Dorothy Brooks along with her 2 brothers Timothy and Michael Brooks. She graduated from Gull Lake High School in 1967. Seeking new horizons, she moved to Tucson, Arizona, in 1972—a city she would call home for the next 54 years.
That same year, Patricia married Henry Leyva. Together, they built a life centered on family, devotion, and shared memories. Patricia worked in the retail business for 30 years. At one time she was the store manager at Mervyn’s in the Tucson Mall. After retiring from retail, she obtained her nail technician license and became a caregiver in which she found her true calling. She gave comfort to many and made many lifelong friends. Patricia’s greatest joy was her role as a matriarch; she was the proud mother of three children, Tanya, Tony, and Jennifer. She was blessed with eight grandchildren, Anthony, Nathan, Aryanna, Isabella, Sofia, Javier, Natalia, Harrison and three great-grandchildren, Aleenah, Elise and Jayleen all of whom she cherished deeply.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents and her younger brother, Timothy Brooks. She is survived by her devoted husband, Henry; her three children; her older brother, Michael Brooks; and a large, loving extended family.
Known for her compassion and dedication for those she loved, Patricia will be missed by all those who knew her.
Service Information: A celebration of life will be held in her honor February 9th, 10:30am at St. Odilia Catholic Community 7570 N. Paseo del Norte Tucson, AZ 85704.Donations
