Patricia Ann Coleman, 88, of Loveland, died Wednesday evening, January 21, 2026, at the Pathways Hospice Care Center, where she was cared for by a compassionate staff and surrounded by her family.
Pat was born October 23, 1937, in Portland, Oregon, to William M. Rooney and Patricia Hummel Rooney. She spent her early years in South Dakota and Nebraska.
She married Dennis Coleman on September 2, 1957, in Bridgeport, (Nebraska. They were married for more than 68 years and together raised five children, later welcoming ten grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.
During their married life, Pat and Dennis lived in many locations across the United States and traveled extensively, including 17 years of full-time recreational vehicle living. In her later years, they lived at the Columbine Wexford Independent Living facility in Loveland, where they were part of a caring community of staff and residents.
Family was everything to Pat, and she was a constant source of love and support to every member of her large, blended family. Pat was known to all who met her as kind, generous, and a friend for life. She had a quiet strength and an easy way of making people feel welcome, whether for a moment or for a lifetime.
Pat is survived by her husband, Dennis; her children Kevin Coleman, Michael Coleman (Karen), Denise Legrow (Dave), Erin Hummel (Don), and Donald Coleman; three sisters, Barbara DeHaan, Ann DeHoff (John), and Kathy Deike (Dave); her brother, Tom Rooney (Carol); all her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Service will be held on February 17 at St Johns the Evangelist Catholic Parish with mass starting at 10am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Pathways, 305 Carpenter Road, Fort Collins, CO 80525.
