It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sarah (Lee) Henderson, 67, who entered the Kingdom of Heaven on January 16, 2026 at Mission Palms in Mesa, Arizona.
She was born on January 15, 1958, in Phoenix, Arizona, to “Joyce” Lucero and Willard Lee.
A loving wife, mother, and friend, Sarah's life was devoted to her family in every way imaginable. In everything she did, she put her whole heart, and if she was around, she knew how to make you feel that you were genuinely cared for. From Thanksgivings and Christmases, to birthdays and celebratory events, she made each time with family and friends special for everyone.
Sarah loved to venture to thrift and second-hand stores, often times not buying items for herself, but for those near and dear to her. She enjoyed finding items that she found meaning in, or had importance to those around her. With these cherished items, she would decorate her home with some, or give the rest away as gifts.
Although she did not regularly attend church, Sarah was Catholic, and kept various writings and prayers to The Lord in notebooks. In writing, she was able lay her thoughts and emotions bare, strengthening her relationship with God.
In May of 2023, after her husband, Floyd, suffered several strokes. For months in 2023, she stayed in his room at a rehabilitation center, never leaving his side. She never gave up on him, and showered him with her love every single day, strengthening him and driving him forward despite his medical challenges. When released, she continued that same steadfast and loving nature, being his sole caretaker and advocate. Whether scheduling his doctors appointments, or providing his daily care, her unwavering love for him shone through in everything she did for him.
Sarah is survived by her husband of 47 years, Floyd , and by her two sons, Eric Henderson and Cody Henderson of Apache Junction. Her warmth, compassion, and selflessness will be remembered and greatly missed. She was the embodiment of kindness, boundless love, and a strength-of-will that will continue to live on in all those she touched in life.
A memorial service celebrating Sarah's life will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at Samaritan Funeral Chapel, 1505 E McDowell Rd, Phoenix, AZ, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with a prayer service beginning at 11:00 AM.
