Michael (Mike) Andrew Laszlo, age 76, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 20, 2026.

Mike was born on January 9, 1950, to Bela and Phyllis Laszlo. He was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend. His kind smile, warm heart, and gentle presence endeared him to everyone he met.

Mike had a lifelong passion for sports, especially watching his children and grandchildren compete. Nothing brought him more pride or joy than cheering them on. One of his greatest joys in life was being a proud “Papa” to his four grandchildren, who will forever carry his love and legacy. Mike was a dedicated employee of West Publishing for many years. After retiring from West Publishing, he continued working at School District 622 as a school bus monitor, where he retired in 2020. He valued hard work, commitment, and the connections he made along the way.

Family and friends were the center of Mike’s world. He loved spending time sharing stories, laughter, and memories with those he loved. His legacy lives on through those moments and through the many lives he touched.

Mike was diagnosed with lymphoma three times. He bravely fought and survived in 2016 and again in 2024. Following his final diagnosis on October 30, 2025, he continued to fight with remarkable strength, courage, and the unwavering support of his family. He fought until the very end.

Mike is survived by his wife of 55 years, Krisann; his children, Tara (Dominick) Navarro, Aaron Laszlo, and Jared (Theresa) Laszlo; his cherished grandchildren, Grace, Bauer, Gianna, and Jack Laszlo; his brother, Gregory Laszlo; his sister, Jacqueline Laszlo; his sisters-in-law, Sandra Podratz and Debora (Joseph) Prifrel; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends, and his beloved dog, Nika.

Mike’s absence leaves a profound void, but his love, strength, and kindness will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew him.

May Mike rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love of all who cherished him.

Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00PM Thursday, February 5, 2026 at Sandberg Funeral Home.
