Anne Marie Nelson, 84, of Colorado Springs, Colo., died Jan. 19, 2026, in hospice care after a brief hospital stay. She was born June 21, 1941, in Jamestown, N.D. Her parents were Palmer R. Nelson, originally from Valley City, N.D., and Myrtle Baenen Nelson of Jamestown.

Anne had worked as a registered nurse at UC Health Memorial Hospital, the Helen and Arthur E. Johnson Beth-El College of Nursing and Health Sciences and Penrose-St. Francis Health Services in Colorado Springs and Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester, Minn. She received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Jamestown and a master’s degree from Texas Woman’s University in Dallas.

Anne was a long-time member of Divine Redeemer Catholic Church in Colorado Springs where the Rosary will be recited at 3 p.m. Feb. 13 prior to the funeral Mass at 3:30 p.m. Springs Funeral Home in Colorado Springs is handling arrangements. Burial will be at a later date in Calvary Cemetery in Jamestown.

In her will, Anne left legacy gifts to St. John’s Academy in Jamestown, the University of Jamestown and Divine Redeemer.  

Anne, who was single, is survived by many cousins.
