Graciela Rodriguez, age 83, was called home to be with our Lord and Savior suddenly on Friday, January 23, 2026, at home in Caldwell, Idaho. She was surrounded by all her children, grandchildren, and those who loved her deeply. She is preceded in death by her son, Toby Serrano; daughter, Cynthia Ann Serrano; father, Guillermo Rodriguez; mother, Hortencia Sepulveda; and numerous brothers and sisters.

 

She was born on September 8, 1942, in Crystal City, Texas, to parents, Hortencia Sepulveda-Rodriguez and Guillermo Rodriguez. She loved her parents dearly and had wonderful things to say about them. She also had a special love for all her siblings and made sure to always express that love. She had a beautiful upbringing and childhood.

 

She married, and had seven children with her first husband, and spent most of her life as a migrant worker. Later in life she remarried and moved to Parma, Idaho, and had two more children. She began a career in the healthcare industry, and she really fell in love with her job.

 

Graciela loved God, believed in praying for others most especially her children. She was a fun spirit, very funny and witty. She loved music and dancing. She was a kind and very nurturing mother. She wholeheartedly loved being a mother. Patience radiated off her, love surrounded her, she was compassionate and had a heart of pure gold. Graciela left behind a beautiful example of strength and resilience. She was a pillar of hope and faith for her family. She was so dedicated to being the best mother she knew how to be. She was and will always be an unwavering rock for her children.

Thank you for being so nurturing, for giving your children unconditional love, for being a devoted and dedicated mother. Thank you for your patience, for your words of encouragement, your wisdom and for always wanting the best for all your children. We are grateful for our life and, most especially, we are grateful to our Lord and Savior for your life. Mom, we love you so immensely, and you will be deeply missed.”

 

She is survived by her son, Joe Serrano (Estella); daughter, Susana Serrano; son, Jimmy Serrano; daughter, Debbie Herrera (David); son, Guadalupe Serrano; daughter, Shanda Serrano (Arturo); daughter, Barbie Jiménez (Adan); daughter, Holly De Leon-Okpo (Godwin); son, Tony Serrano (Kathy); daughter-in-law, Sara Serrano; 34 grandchildren; 95 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; and ex-husband, Jesus De Leon. Graciela leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and strength. Her spirit will live on in every memory. She will be forever missed so deeply.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2026, from 5-8:00 pm, at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, 624 Cleveland Blvd. in Caldwell, where people will be able to share memories, and with a rosary beginning at 7:00 pm. Services are under the care of Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. (208) 459-0833
