Catherine Lynn Flot
Catherine Lynn (Mccoy) Flot, 75, passed away peacefully at her home on January 12, 2026.
Catherine was born on April 9, 1950, to Ellis and Edna (Preeo) McCoy. She spent her childhood on the family farm near Villisca, Iowa. They remained there until the Passing of her father, after which Catherine, along with her mother and two brothers, moved to Colorado.
She graduated from Greeley West High School.
In August of 1967, Catherine married Gary Flot. Together, they had two children, Brent Ellis Flot and Lynn Michelle Flot. Her children were the absolute pride and joy of her life, and she loved them with all of her heart. She was also blessed with four beautiful grandchildren and four beautiful great-grandchildren.
Catherine worked several different jobs throughout her life, but the most rewarding and fulfilling was her work as a CNA. She absolutely loved helping people-this was both her calling and her passion. Outside of work, she loved camping, playing the piano, and quilting. She loved animals, especially her dog Maggie and her cat Missy.
She is a longtime partner of Christ Community Church in Greeley, where she served as a greeter on the prayer team and made meals for the worship team.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her kindness, caring spirit, and laughter will live on in each and every one of us.
Catherine is survived by her husband, Gary Flot; her son, Brent (Alina) Flot; her brother and his wife; her grandchildren, BreeAnna (David) Hughes, Zachary (Heather) Flot, Brody Flot, and Nariah Flot ; her great-grandchildren, Shane, Delanie, Ava, and Alexis.
She was preceded in death by her father Ellis McCoy; her mother Edna Simmering; her stepfather Jerry Simmering; and her daughter, Lynn Flot; her brother, Doug McCoy; and a stepbrother.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Christ Community Church, 1301 15th Street, Greeley, Colorado.
Memorial gifts may be made to the Danny Thomas Foundation or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
