**Obituary for Arthur Lester Burns**

It is with a mixture of sadness and fondness that we announce the passing of Arthur Lester Burns, who left us on January 14, 2026, at the age of 86. Born on August 9, 1939, in Sacramento, California, Arthur was a spirited individual with a vibrant love for life that imprinted everyone he encountered. Arthur’s journey through life was marked by his unwavering dedication to tennis. As an avid professional in the sport, he inspired countless others with his passion and skill. His charisma on and off the court made him a beloved figure in the tennis community. Arthur was also a learned man, having received his Master’s Degree. 

Though Arthur’s professional accomplishments were many, it was his personality that always shone the brightest. He had an infectious warmth and humor that brought joy to those around him.  Arthur's spirit was truly one of a kind. In his later years, Arthur called Commerce City, Colorado, home.

Arthur is survived by his family; a wide circle of friends and loving tennis partners who will miss his infectious spirit and kind-hearted nature. As we honor his memory, let us celebrate the joy he brought to our lives and the inspiration he provided through his passion for tennis and learning.
