Our beloved brother and uncle, Andy Gwyn, died of complications of Lewy Body Dementia and Covid in Indian Harbour Beach, Florida, where he moved from Chicago, Illinois, and was cared for by his brother Jack Gwyn and sister-in-law Patti Gwyn. In addition to Jack and Patti, Andy is survived by his sister, Cindy Gwyn Hicks, his niece, Christina Gwyn, and his nephews Alex Gwyn, Benjamin Hicks and Austin James Hicks. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Trudy Gwyn, and his brother-in-law, Bill Hicks.

Born in Dallas, Texas, and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, Andy majored in theater arts at Indiana University. He pursued his acting career in Los Angeles, CA, Seattle, WA, Dallas, TX, and finally in Chicago, where he performed with various theater companies and understudied at Steppenwolf Theater. He was proud to receive such reviews as one from the LA Times calling his performance in the title role in David Mamet’s EDMOND, “mesmerizing.”

Andy loved his family who loved him back, and appreciated his friends, including Ray Gestaut and Kelly Thomas who kept in touch throughout his illness.

Andy will be laid to rest in the Andice Cemetery in Andice, Texas, near his parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
